Easiest way to drop a few lbs and feel better...

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you.  If you are like me, you might be feeling a little stuffed and bloated from eating too much food and too many sweets over the past few days or weeks like I was.  If yes, here are the top five ways to feel better and drop a few lbs too.
1. Cut out the junk food and Holiday cookies.  Many people eat over 1000 calories a day of junk food and sweets.  And while that might not sound like too much, think about how that adds up over the course of a month and a year?  Extra pounds.  Just eat better.
2. Eat more fiber.  Beans, bran, cereal, oatmeal, many berries, apples and broccoli...  Fiber fills you up and keeps you feeling full longer so you are less inclined to snack and you may also eat smaller meals.
3. Cut out the sugar and high fructose corn syrup.  Sugars are highly addictive, cut them out and reduce their cravings.
4. Drink more water.  More water helps your metabolism so you burn more calories during the day.  This one is easy, it's free.
5. Exercise.  If you work out now, add a short walk at a different time of day.  If you can't find the time to workout, find the time for a 5 minute walk.  Before work, after dinner or between household chores.  Even a five minute walk a day will help you feel better.

Good luck and remember... you do not have to make dramatic changes in your diet and lifestyle to lose a few pounds and feel better.  Just a few minor changes will add up and over time, produce great results for you.

They need your help!!

We need your help.  We are collecting goods for The Milagro House in Lancaster.  The Milagro House helps homeless women and children to restore their lives.  We are collecting diapers (size 4-5-6), garbage bags (tall and 30 gallon), household cleaners, paper towels, toilet paper, bleach, feminine products, dishes, towels, sheets and similar items.  Also, food items in jars or boxes that are still fresh are welcome also.  We have a laundry basket on the front porch to make it easy to stop by and drop items off or call us and we'll make arrangements for pick up.  It's the time of year to help others and we're asking our friends, partners and great clients to help out, if you so desire.  Remember, every little bit helps those less fortunate to a happier holiday season and New Year. Thank you!
